The door with a wood jamb and trim

Designed by Steve Leung, the Ying door collection is an enchanting mix of traditional Chinese woodworking techniques and modern Italian industrial craftsmanship, revealing a continuum between tradition and modernity.
The lower part of the frame is the result of a woodworking process inspired by the ancient Chinese art of ‘sŭn măo’ (榫 卯) and shows a geometrically carved surface that enhances the two side inserts. The upper part of the door emphasizes the design’s flexibility and adaptability to different interior contexts, thanks to a wide range of finishes.

Ying design door

Technical description

The Ying design door consists of a 55mm thick hollow core with aluminum edging.
The lower part of the door features a strip in Moka oak with vertical grooving, common to all door finishes. The lower part of the jamb in Moka oak has a bronze-colored metal finish for the leather door and a Canaletto walnut finish for all the other locks. It is provided with a magnetic lock, concealed hinges and perimeter striker seals on three sides. Frame in wood with rounded, three-dimensional casings 40mm thick.
