Voce Triennale

Lualdi as technical partner of the new Triennale project

Lualdi is the technical partner of Voce, the new space at Triennale dedicated to music and sound.

Located on the park level of the Palazzo dell’Arte, Voce Triennale is a self-contained 300-square-metre venue – with an additional 700 square metres of adjacent garden – hosting Triennale’s music program, including live concerts, DJ sets, listening sessions, sound installations, as well as talks, training activities and workshops focused on sound and listening. The space also features a cocktail bar.

Lualdi supplied the Compass 55 and Rasomuro 55s models, partitions custom-made for the project using materials and finishes tailored to meet the technical and architectural requirements of the interiors. Traditional craftsmanship, industrial expertise and ongoing research were combined to make this collaboration possible – the mission and values of which the company wholeheartedly shares.

Voce is conceived as a space for experimentation and cross-pollination between different genres and expressive languages. It supports research in the field of sound, as well as the conservation and promotion of musical works, audio archives and intangible heritage.

The space opens to the public on 13 May 2025.

Materia Esotica

A work by Patrick Tuttofuoco curated by Luca Molinari for Lualdi

On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2025, the Lualdi showroom transforms into a place of connection and metamorphosis with Materia Esotica, the site-specific installation by Patrick Tuttofuoco, curated by Luca Molinari. The installation redefines the concept of threshold and passageway, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in an experience that blends inside and outside, art and design.

Lualdi’s historic Milanese space becomes a boundary line between the city’s dynamic life and the showroom. The shopfront creates a visual connection between the inside and outside, turning the passageway into a space-time gateway that amplifies the act of seeing and discovery.

Patrick Tuttofuoco’s work explores the relationship between our bodies, gazes and the unpredictability of encounters. In science, “exotic matter” consists of rapidly decaying, fleeting particles that generate a surplus of energy, thus altering and redefining their current state. An idea that captures the uniqueness of human nature and our capacity for self-reinvention through creativity.

“Materia Esotica is an intervention that redefines the perspective of the Lualdi shopfront,” explains Luca Molinari, “because it no longer simply leads inside, it creates a proactive connection between the inside and out. It is a mutual exchange of glances that creates a dialogue. Building relationships is essential, and this installation strengthens them, transforming the showroom into a place of passage, reflection and experience.”
Patrick Tuttofuoco’s installation explores the concept of the threshold as a space of transition and transformation, represented through a human figure in flux. The face, superimposed on multiple levels, gradually becomes a layered image in which each passage is a moment of growth, exchange and the redefinition of space.

“The concept of the threshold is at the heart of everything,” says Patrick Tuttofuoco. “It is a point of passage, of transformation. I wanted to give shape to the threshold through a human figure in the making. It’s not just the portrayal of a face but a changing image. This work speaks to the human capacity for transformation, to dialogue with others as a force that defines and reshapes us.”

With Materia Esotica, the Lualdi showroom becomes more than just an exhibition space – it becomes a place of connection, where visitors are invited to slow down, reflect and take part in an experience where art and design contaminate one another. It is an installation that doesn’t merely invite observation, it returns the gaze, prompting a continuous dialogue with the city and everyone who passes through it.

This initiative perfectly embodies the spirit of Lualdi’s spaces and the company’s commitment to exploring the contaminations between creative disciplines. The showroom becomes a place of connection and experimentation, and the threshold a sensory and symbolic experience.

Redefining Boundaries

Lualdi at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2025

For the Salone del Mobile.Milano 2025, Lualdi presents a stand with powerful visual and conceptual appeal, a statement of intent that reflects the brand’s ongoing evolution in the world of interior design and innovation. The project, designed by Piero Lissoni, takes the form of an architectural installation: a contemporary monolith clad in black fossil oak boiserie along the edges, traversed by sophisticated lighting that emphasises its three-dimensional quality and defines the relationship between solid forms, voids and textured surfaces.

Inside, the space unfolds as a sequence of four distinct settings, true expressions of new ways of living, that become stages of possibility, places where design becomes both experience and narrative.

Setting 1 – Living/Dining: A refined setting in which the new Framework boiserie and sliding systems redefine the relationship between openness and separation, between privacy and togetherness. Here, matter and light communicate, creating intimate and sophisticated atmospheres, perfect for contemporary living.

Setting 2 – Home Office/Reading Room: A sanctuary of productivity and inspiration, where design responds to the fluidity of modern working life. In this space, the modular Framework elements seamlessly integrate with the dynamic Wall&Door partition solutions, highlighting the project’s inherent versatility.

Setting 3 – Bathroom/Hallway: An innovative interpretation of well-being, where technology becomes one with matter. The Shoin partition system in glass and aluminium is reimagined for bathroom spaces, introducing a language of transparencies, reflections and custom details, elevating everyday routines to a new level of comfort and functionality.

Setting 4 – Walk-in Wardrobe/Vanity: A stage dedicated to daily rituals and customised spaces. Thanks to the integration of Framework, the walk-in wardrobe – with its refined finishes and possibility for custom configurations – becomes a manifesto of a new, discreet luxury, where design is crafted to celebrate individuality.

Every detail, from the texture of the materials to the modularity of the solutions, tells the story of a brand that continues to redefine the boundaries of living, proposing a design language that evolves with the needs of the times.

With this installation, Lualdi brings its vision to life, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in an architectural experience where space, matter and light come together in perfect harmony.

“Framework is a system that begins with doors and gradually expands: it lines the walls, becomes boiserie, a partition, a structure for furniture, bookcases, wardrobes… Framework is an entire world.” It is with these words that Piero Lissoni captures the essence of a project envisioned as a fully integrated architectural system.

Living with the Art / The Art of Living

October 10th, Lualdi Los Angeles

On October 10, 2024, the Lualdi Showroom in West Hollywood hosted Living with the Art, the Art of Living, a special talk by architect Roberto Palomba, Co-founder of Palomba Serafini Associati, international architectural and design studio based in Milan. Presented as part of Giornata del Contemporaneo (Italian Contemporary Art Day) and the Italian Design Day, the event delved into the connection between seriality and uniqueness in contemporary design.

“Seriality and uniqueness – The connection between these two concepts defines what is contemporary. As design increasingly intersects with art, we are reimagining the relationship between mass production and uniqueness. Innovation today lies in merging these realms, creating new perspectives and possibilities. When does a serial object become art, and when does a unique piece challenge the concept of seriality?” – Roberto Palomba

Organized by the Consulate General of Italy, the Italian Cultural Institute and the Italian Trade Commission in collaboration with Lualdi, this initiative reflects Italian institutions’ broader efforts to promote Italian excellence and the “Made in Italy” label.

Consul General of Italy in Los Angeles, Raffaella Valentini, emphasizes, “Design and contemporary art are not only expressions of creativity but also powerful tools of diplomacy. They promote dialogue between cultures and advocate for the excellence of Italian exports. Through initiatives like this, we showcase the innovative spirit of ‘Made in Italy,’ strengthening Italy’s presence on the global stage and reinforcing our role as a leader in these sectors.”

“Our Los Angeles showroom is a key part of our international expansion strategy,” says Chiara Lualdi, Head of Marketing. “It’s designed as a storytelling space that reflects the research, technology, and craftsmanship behind our design philosophy. Lualdi showrooms serve as a meeting place for professionals and clients alike, where doors and systems merge to create environments that embody the essence of Italian craftsmanship. Each project highlights the expressive potential of Italian design, bringing the story of “Made in Italy” to life”.

Places London: workspaces for the future

18 settembre 2024

Lualdi continues its "Places" series, launched in 2023, with a new event dedicated to workspaces.

For London Design Festival, which celebrates innovation and creativity in international design, Lualdi’s London showroom has brought together an esteemed panel of experts who discussed the future of workspaces, from design to construction to optimisation, to meet the evolving needs of businesses and people.

The discussion, moderated by Daniel Gava, featured Steven Blaess from Clivedale, a super-prime property developer creating luxury residential apartments, commercial, and hotel developments in London; Anna Vallius from Vibry Ross, a London-based female-led construction company with strong architectural roots; and Rupinder Mann from UnNamed Ventures, a company helping organisations design work environments for performance by using human behaviour insights.

Starting from the evolution of client demands over the last ten years, particularly in
terms of functionality, well-being, and design, the panel of speakers discussed the challenges faced in making work environments effective and adaptable for today’s world.

Flexibility and sustainability will continue to be key constants in designing physical spaces, maintaining their relevance despite rapid technological changes and the growing prevalence of hybrid work.

Rhythm: space, sound, matter

Lualdi synchronizes the frequency of daily life

16-21 april 2024
Showroom Lualdi Foro Buonaparte 74 – Milano

For Milan Design Week 2024, Lualdi animates the spaces of the Milanese showroom with the event-installation RITMO (RHYTHM). Space, sound, and matter, created in collaboration with magazine Linkiesta ETC.

Rhythm as the universal language of daily life, communicating beyond words and images.

A regular beat representing the track for the musical notes, but also an alternation of shapes and colours, succession of lines and curves, development of geometric shapes on matter or in the architecture.

Rhythm is therefore the theme of Lualdi’s Design Week.

At the fair (Hall 9, Stand H11), the company focuses on new patterns, new finishes, and new colours designed by Lissoni & Partners, to illustrate the infinite interpretative and functional potential of the materials.

In the city, the same concept comes to life through a unique sound installation: 3 playlists, curated by Davide Dileo of Subsonica and Linkiesta Etc, describe 3 different domestic environments and mark their rhythm based on the different moments of the day and on the function. The consumption in silent-DJmix mode via Bluetooth headphones contributes to the creation of an intimate atmosphere and to the conscious perception of the deep vibration produced by the music and the environment.

Rhythm like Madeleine de Proust connecting a melody to an object, a sound to a space, a note to a memory to carry with you, becoming a powerful vehicle of memory and emotion.

The playlists will be downloadable through QR Codes, which become portals to a sonic universe that amplifies and enriches the visiting experience, transforming the exhibition space into a place of contemplation and inspiration.

On 17 April at 6.30 pm, Davide Dileo, Valentina Ardia, head of Content at Linkiesta Etc, and Chiara Lualdi will discuss sound and materiality, sound and space, rhythm and daily gestures.

The new Rhythm

Salone del Mobile.Milano
16-21 April 2024

RHYTHM is the keyword and common denominator for Lualdi’s Milan Design Week. A universal language that also communicates by alternating shapes and colours, a succession of lines and curves and the development of the geometry on materials or in architecture.

At the Salone del Mobile in Milan, Hall 9, stand H11, the company will be focusing on the new patterns, new finishes and new colours developed by Piero Lissoni, to showcase the endless ways of interpreting and using the materials.

“The new textures are graphic signs, vertical and horizontal lines that, depending on their composition, change the rhythm and melody, like pentagrams on which to compose music and with which to create continuous decorations or vertical surfaces”.
Piero Lissoni

The stand, designed in collaboration with the Art Director, is a preview of the expressive potential of Lualdi’s systems. The continuing exploration into the possibilities of customised finishes has this year led to the development of unique patterns and decorations designed for glass and wood.

Vibrant settings, animated by the stimulating use of colour and patterns that change our perception of space and the product, like background music.

Lualdi is constantly searching for new balances between functionality and inspiration in which rooms become a bridge between the external world and our interior space, creating an emotional connection between the living spaces and the people who live in them.

Every new finish becomes a visual dance providing a glimpse of a broader spectrum of creative possibilities. From expertly crafted surfaces to the bold overlay of patterns, every Lualdi creation is the synthesis of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary innovation.

Places: hospitality spaces

Hospitality is a constantly evolving sector, attentive to social and cultural changes.

In the past, hotels were often oases dedicated to tourists and closed to the territory and the local public. Today the structures are increasingly oriented to the social context, trying to integrate and open up to the community.

This trend is driven by various factors, including the desire for greater integration and exchange with the territory, the promotion of more aware tourism and the growing demand for new services.

These issues were discussed by:

Senior Professor at Bocconi University and Vice President of the European Travel Commission

Ettore Cavallino

Lualdi Los Angeles

Uniqueness, impact, experience, and brand identity are the keywords to succeed in the United States.

Lualdi, present in the area for about twenty years with showrooms in New York and Miami, consolidates the distribution network with the recent relocation of the Miami space and with the opening of the Los Angeles flagship store, located in the heart of West Hollywood.

The exhibition space, designed by Piero Lissoni, is consistent with the design philosophy of the brand’s other international single-brand showrooms and showcases the company’s design through the products and finishes that distinguish its technological and artisanal know-how.

The decision to open a direct space in Los Angeles, the beating heart of the Californian luxury market, responds to the exponential growth that the company has recorded throughout the West Coast. We want to offer a dedicated project management service to architects, designers, and investors, and convey to all stakeholders the concept of living according to Lualdi
